CFAC Recap: Habitat for Humanity

HabitatGroup

What a beautiful day we had last Saturday, 4/19, at Habitat for Humanity’s downtown Sheridan Ave build site!

More than 15 CAYP members and board members joined us for a full day of fresh air, power tools, 2x4s, and most importantly, giving back! We started the day at 9 am, with orientation with Mandee Naan, Capital District Habitat for Humanity’s Volunteer Coordinator, and soon after were getting our “gear on”. We were given hard hats, nails, hammers, tool belts, safety glasses and put right to work!

We met Bailey, the Habitat Mascot, took some group shots, and started with the tools. Some of us were better with the nail gun and power saws than others! We worked on framing, sub flooring, general construction, and we even built walls! Pizza was served for lunch, but the full day of volunteer work for such a great cause was the most rewarding. It was such a blast, and we can’t wait for our next Habitat project in the future.

Thanks to all the members who joined us for the day!
